HYLINE RACEWAY GETS WINGS!

Gallatin Valley’s Only Motocross Track Selected As Location for the Launch of Red Bull Renewal

Week 1 update from Red Bull Renewal project manager Steve Miller:

4/9/08 ---  Today is one week into the Red Bull Renewal project. We have changed the track layout and we have completed new sections. The riders and the club members coming to check out the progress are all pretty blown away.  This project is really building excitement in the Bozeman moto community.  We are approx. 50% complete with the heavy dirt moving after week one.

Over the past week we have dealt with good weather, bad weather, snow and more snow yesterday!! This has made the course building slower than usual, however this is work I love doing. Seeing the smiles on peoples faces and the simple thank you's from the riders that want positive change!

I have been out for 7 straight days and put 12-14 hours per day out at the track. Cameron Weaver has also spent 5 days out here with me.  A good friend (Chase Gouley) from Idaho drove up the first 3 days of the project and helped excavate the larger areas we needed to farm for dirt.  Again this was a huge help.  I feel that a great group of people has been put together to make the Red Bull Renewal project and Hyline Raceway come to life.

Last night we had a GVDR club meeting and went over details and assigned track tasks to members.  We also discussed building a western-style entry gate and a two-lane entrance road to the track from Bitterroot Road. The Van Dyke’s (property owners) are stoked to see both develop and with time and community support we will make both a reality.

All in all, I am focused on the building of the track for the 1st 2-3 weeks.  Major amounts of dirt need to be moved and put in place.  While out there, I oversee the riders and keep people moving forward with projects. I personally am having an incredibly good time working so much! This is a project that just makes you feel good.  It’s about giving back to the local community, bringing people together and showing our passion to the sport we love, motocross.   This Red Bull Renewal project is a catalyst of good things to come. The local support is growing and this is only WEEK 1!!!!
